Public Safety Dive Training in Florida

Fire and law enforcement dive teams from all over the country attended the class
Mate Dave Bender, Fire Station 49-C attended a public safety dive training course in Florida.  The class, Dive Rescue II, taught by Dive Rescue International (DRI) is the second in a series of public safety dive courses that meet NFPA standards for dive operations.  In the near future the LAFD dive program intends to become NFPA compliant with its dive operations .  All divers, mates and dive support staff will be required to be certified at the operational and technician level.  

The course topics were: 
Light salvage, diver survival, equipment setup and a med-diver class.
